Through the generosity of the American National Bank, The Guilford County Enrichment Fund will be providing grants of up to $100 to elementary school teachers who would like to create or add to a classroom lending library for their students. The hope is that the lending library will give students who may not have many books in their homes continuous access to books.
Individual grants are limited to a maximum of $100 and teachers are asked to use the funds to purchase books for students from low income families.
While media centers and school libraries are essential, please do not submit projects that seek to supply these areas.
No group applications will be considered.
Applicants will be notified of the status of their application within two weeks of submitting an application.
The application must be completed by the classroom teacher.
Grants are limited to elementary school teachers.
An itemized purchase order must be attached.
All receipts and a brief narrative evaluation must be submitted to the Enrichment Fund by May 1.
