The 2011-2012 Application is now available. Please read and carefully follow the submission guidelines.
General Information The purpose of the Enrichment Fund Scholarship Program is to provide assistance to Guilford County School students who have financial needs that prevent them from participating in enrichment activities.
- Students enrolled in grades K-12 are eligible to apply.
- Seniors are not eligible for scholarships for programs occurring after graduation.
- Students may request up to 50% of the per-person cost (up to $100) for a field trip, though priority will be given to students with the greatest demonstrated financial need.
- Barring extraordinary circumstances, applications from students with an annual family income of more than $20,000 will not be considered. Please note that families making less than $20,000 are not guaranteed funding.
- Scholarships for group field trips are only available for destinations within North Carolina plus Washington, D.C.
- Any questions should be e-mailed to scholarships@enrichmentfund.org with the school’s name and field trip destination in the subject line.
Application Deadlines The Scholarship Committee will consider applications in three rounds during the 2011-2012 school year at the times noted below. Scholarship funds will be awarded to qualified applicants until all scholarship funds budgeted for this school year are depleted. Teachers are encouraged to submit students' applications as early as possible to maximize their chances of receiving financial assistance for their field trips. Teachers may apply at any time during the year, but should not expect to receive notice of scholarships awarded until at least three weeks after the relevant application deadline. THE FOLLOWING DEADLINES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED:
- October 3, 2011
- January 9, 2012
- March 5, 2012
Applications will not be considered without the following:
- The Field Trip Detail report submitted by sponsoring teacher.
- A Student Online Application.
- Each student must supply a completed Parent Verification Form to their teacher. The teacher must submit all forms in ALPHABETICAL ORDER to the Enrichment Fund for the Guilford County Schools, Inc., P.O. Box 10208, Greensboro, NC 27404. The packet of forms must be postmarked five days before the Application Deadlines.
Verification Within 45 days after the field trip, the following information must be sent to the Enrichment Fund. If a school fails to comply with these requirements, it will be barred from consideration for future scholarships for at least one year.
