Scholarships 
The 2016-2017 Application is now available.  Please read and carefully follow the submission guidelines.

General Information
The purpose of the Enrichment Fund Scholarship Program is to provide assistance to Guilford County School students who have financial needs that prevent them from participating in enrichment activities.
  1. Students enrolled in grades K-12 are eligible to apply.
  2. Seniors are not eligible for scholarships for programs occurring after graduation.
  3. Students may request up to 50% of the per-person cost (up to $100) for a field trip, though priority will be given to students with the greatest demonstrated financial need.
  4. Barring extraordinary circumstances, applications from students with an annual family income of more than $20,000 will not be considered. Please note that families making less than $20,000 are not guaranteed funding.
  5. Scholarships for group field trips are only available for destinations within North Carolina plus Washington, D.C.
  6. Any questions should be e-mailed to scholarships@enrichmentfund.org with the school’s name and field trip destination in the subject line.

Application Deadlines
The Scholarship Committee will consider applications in three rounds during the 2015-2016 school year at the times noted below. Scholarship funds will be awarded to qualified applicants until all scholarship funds budgeted for this school year are depleted.  Teachers are encouraged to submit students' applications as early as possible to maximize their chances of receiving financial assistance for their field trips.  Teachers may apply at any time during the year, but should not expect to receive notice of scholarships awarded until at least three weeks after the relevant application deadline.  THE FOLLOWING DEADLINES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED:

Applications will not be considered without the following:
  1. The Field Trip Detail must report submitted by sponsoring teacher.
  2. A Student Online Application.
  3. Each student must supply a completed Parent Verification Form to their teacher.  The teacher must submit all forms in ALPHABETICAL ORDER to the Enrichment Fund for the Guilford County Schools, Inc., P.O. Box 10208, Greensboro, NC  27404. The packet of forms must be postmarked five days before the Application Deadlines.

Verification
Within 45 days after the field trip, the following information must be sent to the Enrichment Fund.  If a school fails to comply with these requirements, it will be barred from consideration for future scholarships for at least one year.
  1. List of scholarship recipients with the following information provided for each student with the amount of scholarship granted the amount of scholarship used or not used. 
  2. A check for the total amount of unused scholarship funds, if any

Debby Reynolds Award

The Debby Reynolds Award recognizes an educator, counselor or other staff member who actively and resolutely advocates for children in need. Although this person will be the recipient of the actual award, a monetary donation of $700 will go to the school which nominates the winner. Use of the $700 award is at the discretion of the school and the teacher receiving the award. In addition, an award of $500 will be made directly to the winner to be used as he/she chooses.

Take Home Reader Books-Grant

  • Attention 1st and 2nd Grade Teachers:  Get funding for take home leveled readers!
  • Individual grants for a maximum of $100 to be used to purchase take-home books for students reading below grade level.

The TE Connectivity Robotics Fund

  • TE Robotics Grant is available through April 1st of each school year
  • Individual grants for a maximum of $1500 used to support Robotics Teams within Guilford County

The Future Thinkers, Doers and Innovators Fund
Established by Dun & Bradstreet
General Information
  • The “Future Thinkers, Doers and Innovators Fund” will provide scholarship support for students who advance to regional and national conferences or competitions related to participation in an approved program focused on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
  • The fund will give priority to students with the greatest demonstrated financial need, however all students invited to participate are eligible to apply.
  • The primary focus for this fund will be assisting students in grades 6-12.
  • Seniors are not eligible for scholarships for programs occurring after graduation.
  • Students may request up to 50% of the per-person cost (up to $1000), financial need will be considered when determining actual funding.
  • To request that a program be added to the approved list please contact chair@enrichmentfund.org
  • Under special circumstances, and with a minimum of 6 weeks notice, the board will consider applications for non-approved program related opportunities.

Application Deadlines
The Future Thinkers, Doers and Innovators Fund Committee will consider applications in on a regular basis for the 2016-2017 academic year.  Applications must be submitted a minimum of four weeks prior to the departure date of the trip. Funds will be awarded to qualified applicants until all budgeted funds for the school year are depleted.
